Rock Climbing
I can't believe I haven't posted about Cason's first rock climbing experience till now! About a month ago we went to a big opening party for the Hunger Games movie. The theatre put together a lot of fun activities for kids and adults including a rock climbing wall put on by the Army. We went with my sister and her kids and Cason was intrigued when my nephews started rock climbing. He ran right up to the rocks and tried to climb up himself. I was sure he was "too little," but the man running the booth said "why not mom?" and with that, and Cason's pleas, I couldn't resist. The man was so cute with Cason as he harnessed him up and Cason loved every second of it. I'm sure he felt like one of the big boys. My son is such a stud!

First Salon Haircut
I love, love, love Cason's long, blonde hair, but had to admit to myself that it has been getting a bit out of control recently. I've debated for probably a month now whether or not to get it cut. I think it still looks adorable and can't give up the length completely, but admit the back was getting a bit too long. We have a niece that is almost 3 years old who thinks Cason is a girl :). We also were in Wal-Mart the other day and the man behind us at the checkout counter asked us how old "she" is. (Nevermind the fact that he was wearing a blue shirt and is ALL BOY!) So, I guess that did it for me. I can't have people thinking my little man is a girl, right?! So we took him into Fantastic Sams this evening for his first salon haircut. He did amazing!! He was all smiles the entire time and even flirted a bit with the hairstylist. She was so nice to give him a spray bottle to play with (which he used against his mama) and a token for a prize after he was finished. He's still my same little guy with the adorable long, blonde hair, just a little more clean cut.
Tulip Festival
This past weekend we went up North to spend time with Jeff's dad. It was a quick trip, as usual, but was also a lot of fun. On Saturday we drove up Provo Canyon to see Bridal Veil Falls. It was quite cold outside, but Cason loved the waterfall and couldn't stop talking about it the rest of the day. After we left the falls we drove down to Utah Lake. On the drive we saw multiple yards with beautiful tulips in bloom which triggered my memory that Thanksgiving Point holds an annual Tulip Festival. Jeff pulled out his trusty smart phone and lucky enough it was starting that day. So on to Thanksgiving Point we went..... and it was beautiful. Since it was only the first day a lot of the tulips weren't in bloom yet, but those that were looked amazing. I can't imagine what it will look like this weekend. We ate a delicious lunch at the Thanksgiving Point deli and spent the remainder of the afternoon walking through the gardens. One of the last stops was a large, open, grass amphitheatre with waterfalls in the background. Cason loved running around and going to the top of the waterfalls. I'm sure this was his favorite part. The entire day was relaxing and beautiful.

Easter Weekend 2012
We had such a relaxing, fun Easter weekend this year. Saturday morning we went to the SkyWest egg hunt with my mom, sister, and all the kiddos. Cason made out pretty well and had a ton of fun running around to get all of the eggs. It was fun to see a few of his friends there as well. That evening we had a barbeque at my parents house and decorated eggs. Jeff had just as much fun as the kids and is already planning an Easter egg decorating contest for next year.
Sunday morning Cason didn't waste any time and dug right into his basket first thing. Candy for breakfast isn't a terrible thing, right?! Along with a bit of candy he also discovered egg shaped sidewalk chalk and silly putty. He also didn't want to waste any time and immediately asked to go outside to play with his new found treasures. We were able to convince him to have a nutritious breakfast and a shower while we waited for it to warm up. Then we headed outside and played for most of the morning. Later that evening we went back over to my parent's house for more delicious food and the annual treasure hunt. Cason had to hold his own against the older kids, but was really just excited to be a part of the fun.
The best part about holidays for me is the time we spend with family. I love every second of it and have the most amazing family!

I love this kid!!
Waiting so patiently.
He was so proud of the stickers he put on his green egg.
Cason and his great grandpa putting together an Easter puzzle. I love that he is able to get to know his great grandparents. This picture makes me smile!
Best buds, Case and Cyd, showing off their Easter treasures.
Backyard Adventures
We are loving our backyard this spring! From sun up to sun down Cason loves to be outside playing and it is so nice for me to be able to let him run around in the backyard without having to worry about where he is or if he could get hurt. The weather has been so perfect lately. Cason and I have been playing outside so much recently that I honestly can't recall the last time I had to pick up all of the toys inside the house. We have been focusing on fixing up the patio area the last few weeks and it is really coming together. I love to sit out there during the day while Cason plays on his playground. I made some hemp balls to put over patio lights that we draped around the awning. It looks amazing and is so beautiful at night. Jeff and I have loved sitting out there after Cason goes to bed with the lights shining and the water fountain running. A few times Jeff has even brought his guitar out and I sing while he plays some of our favorites. Cheesy, I know, but I am loving it!
Loving my beautiful rose bushes!
It's hard to tell what the lights and balls look like from this picture, but I am pretty pleased with the outcome of my most recent project :).
This also isn't the best picture, but we planted a few pink jasmine vines on the patio. They smell amazing and I can't wait to see how they grow over the next few years.
Cason loves to splash around in the fountain.
We worried about Cason opening the gate and getting out or letting the dogs out so we installed a lock. Apparently a lock isn't going to stop him :).
