Cason Alan

Cason is now 11 months old, walking everwhere, talking up a storm, and keeping us on our toes! I can not believe that in just over 3 weeks we will be celebrating his 1st birthday.  He does so many cute, new things everyday. I try to keep the camera handy at all times just in case ;).  He has the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen, adorable sandy, blonde hair, and an energetic personality that always keeps me smiling. He is the happiest little guy and has been since he was born. I am one lucky momma!! Here are a few things about him at 11 months:
  • He can say mama, dada, bye bye, bah (bottle), and doh (no). I shook my finger at him and said no one day and ever since he mimics and does it right back. Silly boy!
  • He started walking at 10 months and gets better and better everday.
  • He has recently started climbing as well which basically means he can get into everything he isn't supposed to.
  • Although he still doesn't have a single tooth he pretty much eats everything that we eat... and a lot of it! Favorites are grilled cheese, peas and any type of pasta. Least favorites are fruits.
  • He drinks very well from sippy cups. He also drinks from regular cups (with help) and straws.
  • He wants to help me do everything; dishes, cleaning, laundry, cooking, typing, etc. Typically counterproductive, but I love it all the same.
  • He can turn his sad face on and off in an instant. He knows that he is adorable and tries to use it to his advantage :).
  • He recently started crying when Jeff or I leave which is heartbreaking, yet sweet at the same time. He loves mommy and daddy.
  • He and I have story time every night before bed and he LOVES books. He loves to turn the pages, on que, and point to the pictures.
  • Loves to play guitar with his daddy.
  • He is figuring out how things work and everytime he plays with his toys I can see his mind at work. Example: He puts the balls down the elephant's trunk and watches up top for them to come flying out. I've never been so proud!
  • He can give five, wave bye-bye, and give hugs and big, slobbery kisses on demand.
  • Loves to sing songs while riding in the car. He hates his carseat, but always calms right down when we start up ABC's or Old McDonald. Cheesy, I know, but I love it!
  • I think he is slowly transitioning to 1 nap a day, which I am fine with. He usually takes a nap at the babysitter's and is then awake and ready to play with me all afternoon and evening.
  • He comes up with funny new noises on an almost daily basis. He also tries to mimic almost any noise we make.
  • Has always loved bath time, but has recently become a maniac! He's walking all round the tub, climbing up and down, throwing shampoo and toys around. Just has a good time!
  • He loves other kids and animals and plays well with them.
  • Graduated his helmet on April 11th. Best day ever! He has been through so much in 11 short months and takes it all in stride. I don't think I could have asked for a better tempered kid.
  • He is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I love this boy!!!
Okay, I think I have gone on too long. Although there is so much more I could say. Now for the pictures!

Adorable! Loves to watch out the window with Denver.

 Silly boy!

This is the sad face he can turn on and off. Heartbreaking, right?

 Helping... of course.

Fishy kisses anyone?

Easter 2011

I love Easter! The weekend before the big day we went to an Easter egg hunt with some friends.  They have a daughter the same age as Cason. It is so fun to see them grow up and try new things together. The Saturday before Easter I had to work... blah! But after that we got together with my family for an afternoon at the park. The kids all wore their swimming suits and played in the river. Then back to grandma and grandpa's for dying eggs and onto a barbeque at a friend's house. The Easter bunny found us Sunday morning.  Smart little thing brought Cason a basket full of eggs without candy in them.  He must have known that Cason would just play with the eggs and mommy would end up eating all the sweets :). Every year we get together with my family for a barbeque and the annual scavenger hunt that my mom puts together for the kiddos. This was, of course, Cason's first time participating. So much fun! I love my family!!

Allie and Cason at the SkyWest Easter egg hunt.

Playing in the river at Nisson park.
All six cousins (and Jeff and I).

The friend that we barbequed with has a piranha about as big as Cason. He couldn't stay away!
Cute little guy on Easter morning. He pulls off a bed head pretty well.

Spring :)

Now that we are consistently having warm weather we have been trying to do more things outside (bbq's, yardwork, going on walks, to the park, biking, baseball games, etc.). We took Cason on his first bike ride a few weeks ago and he loved it! We also set up a new playground for him and he has been having so much fun climbing around on it. I love this time of year! I'm not ready for summer yet and am trying to get out as much as we can now before the triple digit heat sets in.

Sunday afternoon trip to the lake

First bike ride of the season -7 miles- go us!
Loves to play in the fountain while Jeff and I work in the yard.

Isn't he the cutest!

I finally started a blog!

After looking at my family and friend's blogs for years I finally decided to start one myself!  We have had so much going on recently that I want to share and decided this is the best way to do so.  So here it goes!
